Full Bio
Justin Solomon grew up in North Omaha and graduated from Omaha Public Schools. He was the first in his family to go to college. A Pell Grant and a Regents Scholarship helped him get to UNL, where he earned two degrees.
At UNL, Justin was elected Student Body President and served as a student Regent. He was the first ever to lower student fees at UNL.
Today he is CFO and COO of Integrated Life Choices, a 100% employee-owned company that supports people with developmental disabilities. He helped grow it from 50 employees in two cities to 1,800 in three states, and led its conversion to employee ownership.
He has stayed involved at home. He gathered signatures for Nebraska's paid sick leave initiative, served on his local PTO, advocated for Nebraskans' access to Medicaid and served on the board of Nebraska Cures, which works to protect the Health Care Cash Fund and biomedical research at UNMC.
Justin is running for Regent because the University gave him a shot. He wants every Nebraska student to get the same one, without crushing debt.
What Does the Board of Regents Do?
The University of Nebraska belongs to Nebraskans, and voters choose who runs it.
Eight elected Regents set the University's direction. They vote on tuition, budgets, academic programs and who leads the University.
District 4 covers parts of Omaha and Ralston. On Nov. 3, District 4 voters pick who represents them on the Board.
Those decisions shape what your family pays for college, which programs stay open and whether NU graduates build their lives here. That's why your vote for Justin Solomon matters.
Who's With Justin
Justin is endorsed by the Nebraska State AFL-CIO, the Nebraska Building & Construction Trades Council, NSEA, Omaha Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 385, Plumbers Local 16, Nebraska Young Democrats and the Nebraska Democratic Party Black Caucus.
He's also backed by OPS board members Jane Erdenberger, Kimara Snipes, Nick Thielen and Gini Magnuson; State Board of Education members Deb Neary, Liz Renner and Maggie Douglas; Douglas County Board Chair Roger Garcia; Douglas County Commissioner Brian Fahey; Omaha City Council President Danny Begley; Ron Hug; and Papio-Missouri River NRD board member Dr. Larry Bradley.
Justin's Priorities
Where Justin stands on the decisions that will shape NU's future.
Justin's Focus
- Don't pass University costs on to students and families.
- Work to freeze tuition and lower costs. NU has raised tuition four years in a row. Purdue held tuition flat for 14 years, mostly by growing out-of-state enrollment. It can be done here.
- More pathways to college, working with school districts and the State Board of Education on college readiness.
Why It Matters to Justin
- A Pell Grant and a Regents Scholarship helped get him to UNL.
- As a student Regent, he was the first ever to lower student fees at UNL. He's done this before.
Justin's Focus
- Look at the system office first. NU's central office grew from about 200 to more than 500 budgeted positions while campus budgets stayed flat.
- Protect classrooms and campuses before cutting programs or raising tuition.
Why It Matters to Justin
- He's the CFO of a 1,800-person company. He reads budgets for a living.
- He led his company's conversion to employee ownership. The people doing the work own the company.
Justin's Focus
- Put NU's economic power to work for District 4.
- Help graduates start companies here. NU should be a more active driver of startups.
- Keep talent in Nebraska. We lose too many college grads in their early 30s, right when they're starting their second act.
- Train for the jobs Nebraska needs, like power grid engineering, rural and behavioral health, biosecurity and actuarial science.
Why It Matters to Justin
- He helped grow a company from 50 employees in two cities to 1,800 in three states.
- He oversees finance and operations across three states.
Justin's Focus
- Protect research and academic freedom across the NU system.
- Lead the next-generation climate and ag economy. UNL eliminated its Earth and Atmospheric Sciences department in December 2025. Nebraska farmers depend on that science. It should be rebuilt, not abandoned.
Why It Matters to Justin
- He served on the board of Nebraska Cures, which works to protect the Health Care Cash Fund and biomedical research at UNMC.
Justin's Focus
- Regular, published office hours across District 4, from Omaha to Ralston.
- Attend OPS and Ralston school board meetings.
- Be in the community before the election and after it.
Why It Matters to Justin
- He grew up in North Omaha and went to OPS.
- He's served on his local PTO, gathered signatures for paid sick leave and fought for Medicaid access. He was showing up long before he ran.
